Kedleston Hall was built in 1759 for the Curzon family and was considered to be one of the finest works of Scottish architect Robert Adam.

Visitors can enjoy the Museum of India which houses Indian and Far Eastern objects collected during the period when Lord Curzon was Viceroy of India. A highlight of the Museum is the "Peacock Dress" which was made for Lady Curzon and consists of silk chiffon, embroidered with metal threads to look like peacock feathers.

The Hall is now administered by the National Trust and lies in a tranquil parkland setting with lakes, cascades and woodland walks. Depending on the day you visit, you might be welcomed to Kedleston Hall by Mrs. Garnett. who reincarnates the 18th Century housekeeper and gives a glimpse of life at the Hall.

A gift shop and restaurant is also open to visitors.
