It takes approximately 2.5/3 hours to complete a course; however this may vary depending on the busyness of a course.

- 16&17, 23&24 February
- 14 March - 31 October inclusive (additional evening slots available May-Aug)
- The course will be closed on Mondays during term time only
- Plus weekends throughout November
- Closed December & January

Open 0900-1700 daily for bookings every 30 minutes.
During busier periods, sites open at 0830 with the last booking at 1800.

Site facilities and local information
Poole's Cavern is a 2 million year old, natural limestone cave situated in the picturesque woodland of Buxton Country Park in Derbyshire.

After months of building, Poole’s Cavern has recently opened their sparkly new visitor’s centre which offers you the following facilities:

Restaurant
Serving light snacks and meals between 9.30-5pm.

Exhibition Centre
Here you can explore a million years ago by taking the ‘Wonderground’ tour.

Shop
Here you can buy treasures and keepsakes to remember your visit, alongside educational and informative material about the caves.

The Cavern
The cavern is open daily from the 10th February to the 23rd December, between the hours of 10am-5pm. Guided tours enable you to take in the Cavern’s history, geology, myths and legends. Tours take place every half an hour and last approximately 45 minutes.
- Adults @ £6.75
- Children @ £4 (under 5s go free)
- Family tickets are available at £20 (2 adults and 2/3 children)

Supervision
Under 18s must be supervised by a participating adult. An adult can supervise EITHER two children (where one or both of them is under 16 years old) OR up to five 16-17 years olds.

Walks
There are various interesting walks from the forest that lead up to the impressive folly Solomon’s Temple from which there are fantastic views over Buxton and the surrounding countryside.

Dogs are very welcome but please ensure you clean up after them!
