Bolsover

Details: BOLSOVER - Think of a bustling market town complete with its own castle, nearby Carr Vale nature reserve (fantastic bird watching) and industrial heritage, surrounded by rural farmland together with the remains (slowly disappearing) of strong industrial features?

You're thinking of Bolsover - robust, but well worth a visit for those that are prepared to make the trip!

More than 750,000 people visit the Bolsover area every year to enjoy the wealth of attractions, natural beauty and traditions that abound the district.

The area is a relatively rural one with a treasure-trove of local historical attractions for residents and visitors to enjoy. Bolsover Castle sits high on a hill-top dominating the vale below, nearby Hardwick Hall, built by the infamous Bess of Hardwick has ‘more glass than wall’ and Creswell Crags where evidence of man dates back some 40,000 years.

Places to stay in Bolsover are all but non existent and Holiday accommodation in nearby Chesterfield - is the obvious choice.
