The Shavings occupies an excellent location on the edge of the Peak District National Park. Just 2.5 miles from Buxton, this charming studio apartment is set on the ground floor of an old stone barn on a working farm in the hamlet of Cowdale. The Shavings’ welcoming and comfortable accommodation includes an open plan studio room with double bed, a well equipped fitted kitchen area with breakfast bar and a sitting area. There are numerous diverse and enjoyable walks that start from The Shavings’ doorstep, and wonderful market towns offering gorgeous local food and drink. This is a cosy and value for money holiday home for those who want to sample all that the Peak District has to offer.

Fuel and power inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc in rent. Cot and highchair on request. Shared outdoor sitting area with furniture. Ample off road parking. One well behaved dog welcome. Sorry, no smoking. Shop and pubs 2.5 miles (Buxton). Note: Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times.

Winter Short Breaks (WSB) are available at many properties in the 'Winter' period - subject to availability. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental.

Off Season Breaks (OSB) are available at many properties in parts of the 'Low' and 'Mid' periods - subject to availability. The price for a 3 night break is either 75% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. OSBs can be booked within a calendar month of the start date of the holiday.

'Last Minute Breaks' (LMB) are available at most properties throughout the 'LOW', 'MID', 'HIGH', 'PEAK', 'XMAS' and 'NEW YEAR' periods. The price for a 3 night break is either 65% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. LMBs can be booked within one week of the start date of the holiday.

Property feedback

The location was excellent. Owners were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Particularly liked the fact that tea, coffee and milk were waiting for us plus some posh biscuits. Accommodation was very clean and excellent value for money.

,The location and area was fantastic and the accommodation was just what we needed in terms of a base to explore the Peak District. Also we could take our dog which was an added bonus. The hamlet of Cowdale was lovely with access to some great country walks.
