Sheldon Day

...annual village fete!

Sheldon Day is an annual village celebration in the Peak District, featuring bunting, live music and entertainment, dog, pet and poultry shows and lots more. Held each year on a Saturday in mid July.

The Peak District is replete with annual country shows and village fetes, a handful of which are pretty well known on a national scale.

One of the lesser-known is Sheldon Day, a hidden gem of a day out taking place across the historic limestone village of Sheldon, near Bakewell.

A vibrant village extravaganza for locals and tourists alike to enjoy, Sheldon Day takes place every July to rapturous reviews.

Most years you can find the Ashbourne Brass Band taking residence, with village treasure hunts, magic shows, BBQ, tombolas, raffles, dog shows, pet and poultry shows, face painting, games for the kids and stacks more.

For such a small village the day crams in an unfeasible amount of fun, even showcasing vintage tractors and vehicles.

Come down to Sheldon next year and sample an authentic celebration of Peak District life.
