Information
Privately owned and personally managed by David and Kate Gardiner, the Darley Dale hotel - near Matlock - offers traditional standards of service and hospitality and excellent food. With its elegant rooms, the hotel is a delightful setting for any special occasions and provides an ideal base for those wishing to explore the idyllic Derbyshire Peak District National Park. After a pleasant day spent in the Dales, comfortable armchairs offer a relaxing place to unwind with a drink before dining.

Admire the huge fireplace built from local stone and initialled by its original owner, Reginald H. Holman.

Accommodation

Each of the nine bedrooms offers comfortable en suite accommodation in spacious rooms, some of which offer splendid views over the garden and Derwent valley. Two of the rooms have four-poster beds and the rooms are individually decorated. Bedroom facilities are of a high standard and include direct dial telephone, flat screen television and a hospitality tray. All rooms are designated as non smoking. Two of the nine bedrooms are on the ground floor in the adjacent nineteenth century Coach House.

Restaurant
The restaurant at the Red House Country Hotel maintains an excellent reputation for the quality of its food and has been awarded an AA Rosette. Situated within the elegant former drawing room, the restaurant overlooks the gardens and valley through large windows. Enjoy breakfast at your leisure and return in the evening to a candlelit table where you can enjoy the culinary delights of the Chef. The menus are changed regularly and each dish is perfectly prepared using fresh herbs and seasonal vegetables. Every taste is catered for. Its elegant setting and breathtaking views over the Derwent Valley, make the Red House an ideal place for wedding receptions and other celebrations.

Next to the hotel is the Red House Stable Carriage Museum, with its fine collection of historical carriages which can be hired for an afternoon's drive. Chatsworth House, one of the finest stately houses in the country and home to the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire, is only a short drive away.
