Accommodation details

Excellent location at the official start of the Pennine Way - 8 minutes walk from the tiny railway station at the centre of the village. Read on for VIRTUAL TOUR. Western House b&b is a traditional 1850s gritstone house in Edale, the heart of the Peak District National Park.

'The Loft'
Luxury ensuite acommodation which is perfect for a romantic getaway. It is a self-contained, spacious loft-conversion with original beams and exposed Queen Truss beam. The accommodation is truly magnificent with private lounge, roll top bath with shower mixer, original Victorian iron and brass bed, stripped pine floor and unbeatable views towards Kinder Scout.

There is also a single bed plus day bed so this room can sleep 4 if required!
There is free access to very private garden.

Single occupancy: £50 - £60 
Double occupancy: £70 - £80

'The Blue Room'
A spacious double room with antique furniture, Victorian cast iron feature fireplace with gold leaf decoration and stripped pitch pine sash window with gorgeous views out onto the Nab and over the stone roofs of the village.

Private but separate Victorian style shower room, basin and toilet. Stripped pine floors and views out onto the Pennine Way and fields full of sheep.

Blue Room prices - includes breakfast:
Single occupancy - £50
Double (based on two people sharing) - £65 - £70

Parking & garden details
There is ample private parking on the driveway. We also enjoy a very private garden which guests are more than welcome to enjoy.

Lot's to see and do!
From the house there is easy access to Kinder Scout and the Pennine Way (from the door), Mam Tor and Castleton. We are close to Ladybower Reservoir and the Derwent Dams (cycle hire available at Derwent and Hope). Walk over Mam Tor to Castleton!

Buxton with its Opera House (20 mins away by car) is famous for its annual Music Festival and Gilbert & Sullivan Festival.

This is a good walking area with many footpaths radiating out from Edale and from other local towns and villages. Excellent opportunities for mountain biking, rock-climbing, pot-holing and hang-gliding as well as visiting the famous caverns at Castleton. Pride and Prejudice was recently filmed at Chatsworth and Jane Eyre at nearby Hathersage.

Derbyshire pubs to visit, beautiful and historic Derbyshire churches and of course the ancient tradition of Well Dresings.
