ANCESTRAL BARN - ETC 5 stars (sleeps 6 in 3 bedrooms) Our ancestral barn infuses charm and character with beamed ceilings and panelled walls. The barn is filled with antiques, has polished floors and richly coloured rugs. The lounge has a glorious open range fireplace and antique furniture. Three bedrooms (one accessible for the mobile disabled downstairs) feature splendid canopy beds that are the very essence of comfort and luxury. All bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms, two with showers, and the master bedroom has a roll top bath. Go on treat yourselves, just walk, talk, relax, and soak up the peace of our delightful countryside and return to laze around a roaring fire. Oil fired central heating, electric included Splendid open country view over our Organic farm CHURCH FARM COTTAGE - ETC 4 stars (sleeps 4 in 2 bedrooms) Gold Award winning cottage originally formed part of our main farmhouse which is Grade II listed, dating from around the 16th century and was featured in the "Period Living and Traditional Home" magazine. The cottage is lovingly restored and beautifully converted to a very high standard. It is full of character with many original features of interest. As you enter the main hall there is a stone flagged floor and beamed ceiling. To the left is a fitted kitchen/dining room, also with a beamed ceiling, a gritstone fireplace, window seat and a quarry-tiled floor. Off the hall is the second bathroom with a shower cubicle, hand basin and toilet. The L-shaped lounge has a full-beamed ceiling and sandstone fireplace, inset with an old black range for those cosy open fires. You will find many needlework pictures done by Sue, and hand worked embroidery. There are polished floorboards throughout, covered with richly coloured rugs, which add considerably to the charm and tradition. The main bedroom includes a king-size canopy bed and wonderful open views across the surrounding countryside. The second bedroom has two good-sized 3'6" single beds. Both bedrooms are decorated to a high standard. The main bathroom consists of a bath, hand basin and toilet. The cottage has a secure private cottage garden. We provide duvets, linen and towels. The cottage has oil-fired central heating and electricity - all included. Passers-by are stopped in their tracks by this pretty 18th century cottage in Dovedale. It is the very essence of a quaint English Country Cottage in a lovely location. Dale Bottom cottage is situated in the hamlet of Hopedale, just find the Watts Russell pub and take the narrow lane that meanders down to the lovely village of Milldale, Dale Bottom sits in a little enclave on it own with the cottage's front and delightful cottage garden soaking up the sun. This must be the most photographed and written about cottage in the whole of the Peak District. Because it's stone walls are smothered in clematis, a medley of colour from roses and sweet peas which clamber up the wall beside the front door. From whichever direction you approach, you cannot ignore the stupendous display of English cottage garden flowers at there best, containing such as dancing dahlias, dianthus, cosmos and helianthus. We have sensitively improved the cottage so that it is warm and cosy, a delight to live in yet retaining all its charm and character. To let you into a secret, this cottage is a very special cottage indeed to us because it is for our retirement in the future, but in the meantime we are happy that you should enjoy it. Step inside the cottage door and into the well equipped kitchen and you will immediately feel the warmth and cosiness of the cottage, with its under floor central heating toasting your toes. The lounge is situated just off the kitchen and is full of light and warmth, with a great deal of care and thought given to the tasteful decoration and antique furniture. It has a log burner in its grand fireplace for those evenings snoozing around the fire. There is also a door leading onto the back of cottage and to the outside eating area for those long warm evenings. All the rooms overlook the delightful cottage garden.
