Accommodation details

Tinsmiths is a detached cottage (dating from 1765) which offers comfortable accommodation for up to 5 - 6 people. The cottage is located in beautiful surroundings overlooking the sough in Cromford, near Matlock Bath. Small forecourt with hanging baskets and shrubs, patio table and chairs available. Sorry no smoking allowed in the cottage.
Don't forget the famous Matlock Bath Illuminations spectacular each year between August and October....!

Tinsmiths information
Previously a leadminers cottage it housed two families upstairs and animals downstairs and has been recently refurbished. It also featured in a BBC production of Silas Marner.

Upstairs is the large sitting room, with TV, DVD and CD player. This room features a coal effect fireplace at one end, and two large sumptuous sofas. The windows have a splendid view, overlooking the Sough, known locally as the bearpit. 

The dining room is provided with antique French Pine furniture, and seats 6 comfortably at the table.

The two bedrooms sleep 5 or 6 people with the family bedroom (double bed plus two single beds) capable of sleeping up to 4 itself. The other bedroom sleeps two people in a double bed.

The well equipped kitchen boasts modern appliances, microwave, elec cooker, fridge, washing machine etc and all crockery is provided.

CD, DVD player with a good supply of DVD's, games and books are freely available to use as is a large selection of local information leaflets at the cottage.

Wireless broadband available from March 2011

Cromford information
The quaint village setting dates back to Arkwright times and still has a butchers, bakers, chip shop, newsagent, post office and most other small convenience stores as well as lots of good public houses and a bistro.

Take a stroll around the millpond or browse in Scarthin bookstore just a few yards away from Tinsmiths. Or a little further down the road visit beautiful Cromford canal.

Childrens park is located approx 400 yards at the end of the conservation path near the cottage.

Surrounding areas
Cromford is very close to some of the best facilities and attractions that the Peak District has to offer including Chatsworth House, Riber Castle, Haddon Hall and many family entertainment favourites including Gullivers Kingdom and Alton Towers. Nearby Carsington Water between Ashbourne and Wirksworth has a visitor centre, sailing club, fishing, and cycling and walking trails too.  Not forgetting, of course, the wonderful walking country all around the Derbyshire Dales area; all in all a perfect base for whatever type of Peak District holiday you prefer!
