Sleeps 4 in 2 bedrooms - 4 star rated - this cosy, stone built, former coach house will enchant you with its lovely location just above the picturesque village mere (duck pond), the perfect rural retreat in the memorable village of Monyash close to the fine Peak District town of Bakewell.
Graded 4-star Self Catering by Visit Britain and accredited for Walkers and Cyclists, it is centrally heated throughout with beds rated 'ooh, so comfortable' by guests. There is an elegant master bedroom with king-sized bed, a country-style twin bedroom, a cheerful shower room, a generously equipped dining kitchen, a luxurious lounge with card and dice games table.
There is off-road parking for two cars, a large lawned garden with a patio, summer furniture and barbecue for alfresco dining.
Storage is available for bikes, etc, by prior arrangement.

The popular Bull's Head pub is only 150 yards away on the village green, and next door is The Old Smithy café, both of which serve meals seven days a week. There are also seven other country pubs within three miles of the cottage, all with open fires, serving home-cooked food.
There are plenty of interesting things to do and see in the area.
The magnificent stately homes of Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are a fifteen minute drive away. The UK's only Tramway Museum at Crich, the Heights of Abraham with cable car rides and Gulliver's Kingdom, and the Mining Museum are easily reached. Both Alton Towers, the UK's premier theme park, and Jodrell, the UK's premier observatory, are less than an hour away.
Fishing and horse riding can be booked a few miles away.
The Limestone Way passes through the village. Arbor Low henge, cycle hire and access to the High Peak and Tissington Trails are just outside the village.
Lathkill Dale starts at Monyash, Dovedale is to the west and most other Derbyshire Dales are within a few miles.
There is a mass of information in the cottage on things to see and do. If you can't decide from all the options, just drive around Britain's first National Park and enjoy the stunning views and excellent pubs and cafes. Each evening you can return to the peace of Monyash and enjoy dinner in the village inn or another nearby pub. Or you can retired to your cosy, centrally-heated cottage and make your own dinner before challenging your companions to a board game, or watching TV or a DVD, or wander to the pub for a pint.
Accommodation in detail
Dining Kitchen: Generously equipped with pots, pans and utensils, it has seating for four, a washing machine, microwave, cooker plus hobs and grill, toaster, fridge with freezer box, iron and board, radio/CD player and essential consumables. Full details will be provided when you book.
Inner Hallway: Here can be found the tumble dryer, vacuum cleaner and dirty boot rack, plus coat hanging space, umbrella stand and night light.
Lounge: This is elegantly furnished with a 7 foot settee, a modern armchair, card, dice and board games table, FreeSat TV, DVD player, a sideboard, nest of tables plus houseplants and quality pictures. The original door to the coach house is now a large feature window onto a paved area outside.
Master Bedroom: This spacious, elegant bedroom has a very comfortable, king-sized bed, wardrobe, luggage rack, bedside tables with lamps, a cheval dressing mirror, dressing table, mirror and stool, hair dryer, chest of drawers and terrestrial TV.
Landing: Here there is an extra 4-bar towel rail and a night light.
Shower Room: This light, white room has period wash stand and toilet with a corner shower cubicle. There is also a shaver point, mirror, bath mat and triple towel rail, a Velux window and cushioned, washable flooring.
Twin-bedded Room: This room has two 3-foot beds, a dressing cabinet and mirror, bedside lights and a corner unit, plus radio/clock/alarm.
Outside: There is a large lawn, two benches, a patio area with table and four chairs, bird feeders, rotary clothes drier and recycling box.
The owner lives next door, so is usually on hand to offer help and advice or to provide anything extra you might need. She takes pride in offering a high standard of cleanliness and comfort to ensure you have a truly memorable stay.
