Description of property

Set in the small hamlet of Moneystone to the south of the Peak District, this lovely cottage makes a superbly cosy and welcoming base for enjoying the walks, cycling, market towns, pretty villages, theme parks and historic houses of the area. There are two comfortable bedrooms here, one double and one family room with bunks and a single bed. The accommodation is set over the ground floor, meaning young and old alike can relax in front of the open fire or enjoy the lovely views over the Churnet Valley. One dog is welcome, and the owner even offers a dog-sitting service, allowing your four legged friend to enjoy long walks with you and then be fussed over while you indulge in a fine meal or quiet afternoon. The attractive garden is a nice spot for relaxing, and the area is well placed for Staffordshire, the Peaks and more.

Winter Short Breaks (WSB) are available at many properties in the 'Winter' period - subject to availability. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental.

Off Season Breaks (OSB) are available at many properties in parts of the 'Low' and 'Mid' periods - subject to availability. The price for a 3 night break is either 75% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. OSBs can be booked within a calendar month of the start date of the holiday.

'Last Minute Breaks' (LMB) are available at most properties throughout the 'LOW', 'MID', 'HIGH', 'PEAK', 'XMAS' and 'NEW YEAR' periods. The price for a 3 night break is either 65% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. LMBs can be booked within one week of the start date of the holiday.

We all had a really lovely holiday. The cottage was perfect, very comfortable. I haven't slept so well for ages. Our hosts were very kind and helpful in suggesting places to visit. They have thought of everything to make Barks Cottage a great place to stay and we shall certainly be booking up again to stay there next year.
