More information
Originally, West Wing formed the kitchen and living rooms of Pool House, a substantial 18th century country property, once a farmhouse standing in about three acres.

It is approached by a short drive from the pretty but narrow country road through the village. There is ample off road car-parking in the old, walled farmyard in front of the house.

Behind the house is a particularly fine stretch of countryside leading to Linacre Woods, criss-crossed by ancient footpaths that originally linked the medieval halls and farmsteads. The woods and village are recorded in the Domesday Book. A number of circular walks, long and short, through bluebell woods, through fields and beech woods, besides the beautiful Linacre reservoirs where trees hang over the water, can be taken immediately from the house so that the car may be left behind. This area, noted for its tranquillity and beauty, has been designated a landscape of historic interest.

More Features
The property is maintained to a high standard by the resident owners. Old Brampton is about 30 mins from M1 Exit 29. Cinema, theatre, swimming, supermarkets, pubs and restaurants and much more is available in Chesterfield, 3 miles away. The pretty village of Old Brampton boasts a fine old church with an unusual clock and three pubs, two of which serve food. It lies to the west of Chesterfield on a winding country lane leading out into the Peak District beyond Pudding Pie Hill. It is the centre of some delightful walking country itself. Further afield are some of our favourite walks e.g. Curbar Edge, Froggatt Edge, Baslow, Bakewell and Chatsworth Park are all within easy reach.

Please also note - we kindly ask guests to respect our non-smoking policy.

To maintain a high standard of housekeeping for all our future guests, unfortunately we cannot accept pets in the accommodation.
